Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She co-founded The Huffington Post, is the CEO and founder of Thrive Global as well an writer of 15 novels. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and the owner of the independent liberal online news magazine The Huffington Post. Born in Greece then moved to England when she was sixteen. In Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA of Economics. The famous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first president and she took it at the age of 21. After graduation she made her mark as an editorialist for the conservative syndicate and with the launch of The Huffington Post' few years later, she developed a voice-based website that offered critical observations about the current political climate. Arianna was able to attract numerous prominent contributors to post their opinions about politics and culture. Arianna became famous in 2003 when she decided to stand for a non-partisan position in the California recall election to replace the Governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna was also the leader of the Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient vehicles. She was named one of the Most influential women in media according to Forbes in 2009, gaining the 12th spot on the list. That same year Guardian listed her among the Top 100 Media List. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she became the president of this group. It included a variety of AOL properties of the time such as Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos was a daughter of Konstantinos a management advisor and journalist. Though she was close to her father, it was the relationship she shared with her mother that formed her entire life. Even in her formative age, she displayed her leadership skills and is a household name. At the age of 16, she moved from America to United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. She enrolled in Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college and was the third female to be elected the president. She graduated in 1972 with an MA in Economics. After after graduation she was an editor of the critic's column and a television host. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on an edition of Face the music.
