Amy Smart has been a model, actress and a former American. Amy Smart was born and was raised in California, United States of America. Amy Smart started modelling in Italy. Her acting debut came in 1996, when she appeared in The TV film Her Costly Affair. Then, as a supporting character in the feature film Starship Troopers she struggled very for a long time. Amy struggled to make the switch from modeling to acting because model actors aren't generally considered good actors. Models are often only given minor and unimportant parts. Amy persevered, and ultimately she was offered bigger roles in the films Varsity Blues and The 70s. In 2005, she was cast on the lead role in the romance comedy Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. The film was a major commercial success, and Amy had finally found the recognition that she was seeking for more than a decade. Then she went on to work in some of the biggest movies, including the Crank series starring Jason Statham as well as Shameless in which she played a recognizable character.
