In seasons 1-8 the shippers place bids for two shipments on uShip, using a reverse auction format. Bids contain comments about the potential risks and costs along with the motivations, and abilities. The job is typically awarded to the lowest bidder when the auction is over. At the discretion of the client the job may be awarded to a higher bidder who has received a higher score from past clients' feedback. If the bidder is lowest the tie will be dissolved by the feedback rating. Season 9 will see shippers receive their loads from a shipping agency. The bidding process isn't documented. Shippers load their cargo and try to deliver it in good in good condition by the time specified by the receiver or client. Client feedback ratings are displayed after the goods have been delivered. The total revenue for each shipper along with the costs (fuel labor, late delivery penalties) are displayed on screen at the end. The bid amount is subtracted in order to calculate the overall profit and loss. Sometimes, shippers offer to transport additional loads on the same trip. This extra amount is then added into the total. In certain instances it is possible that the shipper is in a position to not complete the task because of concerns about the weight of the load or the road safety. On occasion, one shipper will solicit the assistance of a different person to assist in the completion of the job. The two shippers decide how to split the proceeds. Seasons 1-8 are filled with funny critiques from the other shippers.
